I know most Elves are fair-skinned with light hair, but it did annoy me that the game developers stuck with lore that was already created from other works instead of doing something unique and making up their own rules, or more importantly, just giving that choice to the players to give them that freedom of customization. I would have really liked hair and skin color sliders to alter things to my liking. Another thing that bothered me was the limited choices in skin color, yeah you could make the Harani darker or lighter in complexion, but the Elves all had to be quite pale in appearance, even when it came to hair color you can’t properly have an elf with black hair, and there are no slider bars to choose hair length or to mix hair parts. Another example is that you can’t change body type or height at all, you get a preset body type. There are a few things you cannot mess with or change, and other things you have very little control over. For example, the Harani look VERY asian in appearance, and although I was able to change my guy’s appearance the Asian look still came through quite clearly. When you start the game you will be able to choose between fighting for the Nuia or the Haranya continent, from there you choose which race you want to play, then gender, then you can further customize them to your liking… well, somewhat.
